Lost Theory: What happened to Claire for Aaron to end up with Kate?
What happened to Claire that resulted in Aaron ending up with Kate off the island? To me, the fact that Aaron is off the island tells me that he's perhaps more important than we thought in the overall Lost story arc. Was Desmond's vision of Claire and Aaron getting in the helicopter wrong? Was Desmond lying to Charlie because he saw himself in the helicopter? Here are a couple theories:
Theory 1: Claire was killed
Claire may have gotten off the island, allowing for Desmond's premonition to be true, but perhaps the reason things are so uncomfortable among the Oceanic 6 off the island is because Claire was killed (leaving Kate to act as Aaron's mother) and no one can say anything about it. This would seem to be something that would continue to eat away at Jack, particularly if he knows that he and Claire share Christian as their father.
Theory 2: Aaron was stolen from Claire
Aaron may have been stolen from Claire. If this happens, is it within the realm of possibility that the Losties had to steal him as a condition of them getting back to the "real world"? Did the freighter folk steal him? This would also explain Jack not wanting to be around Aaron.
Theory 3: Claire gave Aaron up
There may be a point where, for whatever reason, Claire has to make a choice where Aaron can remain safe, but only if he is taken to the "real world" and she's not allowed to go. This would create an opportunity for a mother / son reunion if Jack and crew ever get back to the island to save the rest of the Losties. Maybe that's part of why Kate doesn't have an interest in going back to the island. She seemed very content acting as Aaron's mother.
I'm sure I'm missing all kinds of other explanations for why Kate is acting as Aaron's mother. What do you think? Vote in our poll if you think it's one of these 3 theories or leave your comments with your theory. In any case, I can't wait to see it play out!
You're forgetting the possibility of Aaron being evil. Remember the psychic's warning to Claire about Aaron: "It is crucial that you raise this child yourself." Regardless of whether or not Claire is still alive, perhaps Aaron starts to show some "abilities" which scares the Losties and causes a series of actions on their part which results in Aaron being taken off the island.

Ooh, I had totally forgotten about that. If that doesn't come back and play a significant role, I'll be disappointed. lol. It's been a while, but did the psychic say that Aaron was EVIL?? I remember that he was scared/nervous... but concerned about evil? i don't remember that particular.

Okay, so after some further thought I have another theory:

Second, I find it important to think about the fact that Jack does not want to see Aaron.
Recently a polar bear from the island has showed up in Tunisia, or if you think it terms of the Orchid - a "copy" has shown up in Tunisia. What if the Aaron Kate has is not the real Aaron, but a copy? Meaning Claire and Aaron could both still be alive on the island. And perhaps Jack does not want to see him because to him it is not the real Aaron.
Of course, if we start down this path of thinking, we have to ask: Could the rest of the Oceanic 6 also be copies? And can the Orchid's abilities work both ways? i.e. bringing a copy of Locke's Dad to the island?

Interesting theory about copies....maybe these copies are able to lead seperate lives- but some of the memories cross over- this would explain deja vu- as its something your copy has experienced and somehow has transfered to your conscience (and maybe the island somehow facilitates this, possibly thru the manipulation of time (or that could be a byproduct))

No, dude, they were definitely BOTH 15. I wonder what these copies have to do with Desmond's time-slipping disease, if anything... cos he wouldn't have been able to be in the same place twice... right?

maybe the 4 people that landed (Dan Miles Charollote and Frank) take claire and aaron home (which would make desmond's wision true) but off the island claire somehow dies, leaving kate having aaron, and for some reason no one can talk about claire, if she really is dead

i think the person in the coffin is walt. think about it, dudes. the coffin was small. and why would kate not care? cause she barely knows walt and doesn't care about him dieing. but why wouldnt michael show up? my guess is that he's either still working for ben (which i doubt)or he's dead. i think michael died because maybe he wanted to help get the oceanic 6 off. and by helping to get them off the island, he had to die, which is what he kinda wants, now that walt hates him for killing ana lucia and libby. and maybe there ARE more than 6 people that get off. like, desmond and juliet wouldn't count cause they weren't on the plane. and i think that maybe sawyer gets off, but no one talks about him for some reason. and i think he might be in the coffin. kate wouldnt want to go cause she was too sad. and sawyer has no family, and no one else really likes him. but wouldnt they like him enough to go to his funeral????????????????????

scoop, i like your idea on the copies, cause why would hurley get off the island even though he doesn't want to? i like that thery, but i kinda doubt it. it would be too weird. it'll probably be something that no one expects. these writers are good at that.
and waz the deal with that stick when eko died? open your eyes and look to the north. john chapter 30 verse 5. i was thinking this: when desmond experenced those side effects on the helicopter, they were going north. and a thing in the helicopter said 305.
maybe it has something to do with locke. his name is john.
idk.
i hope sawyer doesnt die. he rocks.
but what if everyone that doesnt get off the island does die? and is jin really dead? i doubt that. i bet charles widmore said that if they talk about the other people still on the island, that he will kill them or a loved one. charles widmore really has something to do with this.

Regarding the 305...this is also the bearing that Locke uses to try to find the others camp in "Enter 77"...he ends up finding the Flame station

why is walt so mad at michael for killing ana lucia and libby? i understand him being upset that his father killed 2 people, but michael only did that for walt. but when tom friendly came to michael in the flashback, tom only said,"Michael, you told walt what u did to those 2 women?"
tom said 2 women. he didnt call them by their actual name. maybe they're not talking about ana lucia and libby. maybe michael killed 2 other women when he gets off the island. what do u think of that, thad?

In the orientation videos for Dharma the guy ntroduces himself as Mark Wickman (flame and one other, I forget) then Marvin Candle (Swan orientation). This supports the "copy" theory.

sup everyone?! im back! I was just watching lost season 3, and remember that scene where karl was being brainwashed? on the screen in front of him was a sign that said: God loves you as he loved jacob.
So i went to the Bible, and in the story of jacob, he had a wife that died giving birth, just like ben's mom. wanna hear the really weird thing? she named her baby benjamin. so jacob is ben's father. and jacob had a father who never aged and never died, just like richard. so im thinkin' dat jacob's dad is richard. but in season 3, the episode "The man behind the curtain" ben's dad isn't jacob. so does ben have 2 dad's? and is his other dad locke's dad? because in the bible, ben had a brother named joseph, who acted exactly like locke does. well, check this out and tell me if you like it.

so jack, kate, sawyer, hurley, and sayid began to throw stuff out the window of the helicopter. and frank said,"i'd be more comfortable if we were a few hundred pounds lighter. so sawyer turned to kate and whispered something to her. and then he jumped. but he survived.
that's the story. now wanna hear what sawyer said to kate? here it is:
in the helicopter, sawyer turned to kate and whispered something. he said," I have a daughter in alabama. you need to find her. tell her i'm sorry." And then he jumped.
